What Makes You Smile? – photo challenge terms and conditions

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

All students and staff from the Universities at Medway partnership (University of Greenwich, University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University).

Entries

You can only submit one photograph. Photos submitted on behalf of another person will not be accepted.

Entries that were not received by the closing date on 21 October 2022 by 17:00, due to transmission errors, email malfunction, file error or otherwise, will not be accepted.

Technical specifications

  • Photos must be sent by email in digital format to medwayinternationals@gmail.com.
  • Photos should be submitted in a high-resolution format (maximum file size is 10 MB).
  • Photos must be submitted as JPEG or PNG files.
  • Photos must be submitted with no watermarks, borders or excessive digital manipulation.
  • Images containing subject matters that could be deemed as inappropriate, offensive or illegal will be discounted.

Prize-winners

The Medway Campus Chaplaincy will select the prize-winners who will be notified directly via email.

Winning photos will also be shared on the Drill Hall Library social media and website, and in the Medway Campus Chaplaincy blog and newsletter.

The prizes are provided by the Medway Campus Chaplaincy.

1st prize:  £25 Amazon Gift Voucher & a goodie bag

2nd prize: £15 Amazon Gift Voucher

3rd prize: £10 Amazon Gift Voucher

The prizes are as stated and are not transferable.

Rights and ownership

Entrants agree to their photo to be displayed in the photo exhibition in the library and the winning photos to appear in the Drill Hall Library social media as well as on Medway Campus Chaplaincy blog, Facebook and/or newsletter.

By entering an image, you grant to the Drill Hall Library and Medway Campus Chaplaincy the non-exclusive right to reproduce it for any purpose at any time in any media with attribution based on the name supplied.

You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of the image entered.

You are responsible for ensuring any image you submit has been taken with the permission of the subject, or the consent of their parent/guardian if they are under 18 and does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.

Drill Hall Library and Medway Campus Chaplaincy may use photographs and photograph descriptions entered in the competition for promotional purposes beyond the photo challenge.

Publicity

All entries will be displayed in the exhibition held in the library.  The winning photos will be published on the Drill Hall Library social media as well as on the Medway Campus Chaplaincy blogs, Facebook and newsletter.

Data Protection and Privacy

We are committed to protecting your personal data. Personal information including email address provided by entrants will be used for the purposes of the photo challenge only to contact the winners, and in accordance with data protection legislation in force in England.
