Last entry to the Library is 15 minutes before the published closing time. Please ensure that you save any work, collect your belongings and leave the building promptly prior to advertised closing times.
Lidded drinks, cold food and snacks are permitted in the library but to ensure the library space is free from strong odours and kept clean, we do not permit entry into the library of fast food deliveries or any hot food from any takeaway outlets including those on campus.

Overnight study spaces available from Monday 6 April until Friday 15 May.
The Drill Hall closes its doors at midnight during term time but if you need to study a little later, we will be providing overnight study spaces in our C Block study rooms accessible through the side door, adjacent to the car park entrance. You will need to show your Student ID card upon entry to these rooms. No Student ID card, No Entry so ensure you always carry it with you whilst on campus and show it to staff members upon request .
This space will be for study only, there will be no access to the library or its resources, including access to vending machines, so please bring your own drinks and snacks. .
- Monday: Midnight until 8am Tuesday
- Tuesday: Midnight until 8am Wednesday
- Wednesday: Midnight until 8am Thursday
- Thursday: Midnight until 8am Friday
When the overnight study space closes at 8am, students will be asked to exit and re enter through the main entrance to continue their studies.
Due to urgent essential maintenance to our heating system, the Silent and Quiet Zones will be closing from 17:00 on Wednesday 4 March 2026.
Study spaces will be available in the Group Zone and Mezzanine floor, and for those requiring silent study space, room DC107, located on the 1st floor, will be available from 16:30 until advertised closing times.
Students will still be able to return books, request books, access the cafe area and Group Zone printers

Book a group study space for up to 6 people, term time only. A private study space for up to 2 people, or book an individual space in our family room if you need to bring in a child under 18 years old. Booking times available between 09:00 and 17:00 only.
