Last entry to the Library is 15 minutes before the published closing time. Please ensure that you save any work, collect your belongings and leave the building promptly prior to advertised closing times.
Lidded drinks, cold food and snacks are permitted in the library but to ensure the library space is free from strong odours and kept clean, we do not permit entry into the library of fast food deliveries or any hot food from any takeaway outlets including those on campus.

With the end of term on Friday 12 December the library will be reverting to reduced opening hours:
• Saturday 13 December to Tuesday 23 December 09:00 – 17:00
The Drill Hall library will then be closing its doors for the Christmas break from Wednesday 24 December until Thursday 1 January 2025
What will be available for students?
Study spaces will be available during the Christmas break for the students of the Universities at Medway partnership, Canterbury Christ Church, Greenwich and Kent University during the following dates and times.
• Saturday 27 December to Wednesday 31 December 10:00 to 16:00
Entry to these spaces will be available via the library building C block entrance which is located adjacent to the car park barriers. These spaces will be available upon presentation of a valid Canterbury Christ Church, Greenwich or Kent University ID card only, there will be no access to any of our external access membership holders.
Please note that during this period there will be no access to the main library floor for books, printers, scanners or catering facilities but book returns will be available in C block. This facility is not available to our external access membership holders. The area will be supervised and patrolled by security staff and monitored by CCTV. For security purposes you must present your valid student ID card to be permitted entry, we will be operating a no card, no entry policy.
The library will be reopening its doors with reduced hours:
• Friday 2 January to Sunday 4 January 10:00 to 16:00
Term Time operating hours resume from Monday 5 January 2026:
• Monday – Friday: 08:00 to Midnight
• Weekends: 09:00 to 21:00
The Drill Hall library will revert to the standard term time opening hours from Monday 22 September to Friday 12 December 2025

Book a group study space for up to 6 people, a private study space for up to 2 people, or book an individual space in our family room if you need to bring in a child under 18 years old.
