Notice to final year students 24.04.12 09:42
If you are in your final year of studies at the Universities at Medway, you need to ensure that you return all library materials you have on loan.
You also need to clear your account of all charges.
Failure to do so may result in your certificate being withheld.
Please RESPECT everyone's right to study 11.04.12 12:15
Welcome back from the Easter break. As the exam period approaches, demands on study space and library resources will increase so during this busy period we are reminding all our users to respect everyone's right to study.
Keep it quiet: in the Silent Zone this means silent - talking on your mobile phone or even whispering is disturbing.
Keep it tidy: place all your rubbish in the bin.
Keep it charged: return netbooks to the trolleys and plug in so they recharge.
Keep it academic: use PCs for study purposes - it's not fair to use a PC for social networking when someone else needs it to work on an assignment.
Keep it with you: look after your possessions and don't leave your laptop unattended.
Keep it in the cafe: consume food, canned and hot drinks in the cafe - only drinks with a screw top are allowed elsewhere.
Laptop loan scheme improvements 03.04.12 09:21
We have replaced the batteries in all our laptops, this should increase their life significantly.
Should you need to use a laptop for a longer period of time you can now borrow a charger. These are for use only with laptops not netbooks. They are available from the Welcome Desk.
Headphones sold at Welcome Desk 29.03.12 10:52
We regret that it has become necessary to increase the amount we charge students for headphones to £2.30; this is partially due to last year's increase in the rate of VAT.
The increase will take effect from Monday 16 April 2012.
Drill Hall room DC118 is now a Quiet room 28.03.12 16:01
With the exam period approaching, it has become necessary to increase the quiet study space within the library.
We are therefore designating room DC118, in Block C, as a Quiet Study Room for the period. We would request all students using this room to abide by the quiet study rules.
Restrictions to SCONUL Access users 28.03.12 16:01
With exams rapidly approaching, some universities are restricting access to SCONUL Access users for a few weeks.
If you are planning to visit another university library over the coming weeks under this scheme, please make sure you check whether there are any restrictions in force before you travel: their websites should be able to advise you.
