Individual Subscriber undertaking private research
If you do not fall into any of the other categories above and you are undertaking private research then you can apply to join the Drill Hall library as an individual subscriber. The fee for borrower status to enable you to borrow items from the Library is £100.00 per annum. Membership is granted at the discretion of the Library Manager.
What we can offer:
- Access to the Drill Hall Library
- Reference access to over 100,000 academic texts and academic journals
- Use of 250 Study spaces
- Use of photocopying facilities, binding machines and video and DVD playback equipment
- Access to Daily Newspapers
- Reference access to Specialist career advice book collection
- A Personal Library account - You can borrow up to 5 ordinary loan items from the Drill Hall (Medway campus) Library stock at one time. To avoid any misunderstanding, however, please note that Short Loans are only available for reference and not borrowing. Study Loans, Counter Materials, Inter–site loans, Inter Library loans and reservations are excluded from the scheme. Additionally due to educational licence agreements, electronic databases, electronic books and journals and specialist software are available only to registered members who make up the Universities at Medway.
We regret that PC access is not included in this scheme.

How to Apply:
If you would like to apply for individual subscriber status please write to the library manager at the address below.
If approved your Universities at Medway Library membership card will be ready for collection 48 hours after you have completed your registration form. This is to enable your personal account to be set up. Payment will be due when you collect your card.
