- Save your work regularly under different names and in different locations.
- Do not store your only copy on a USB stick.
- Always click 'Save As' before working on an email attachment.
The safest place to store your work is on the network. Files are backed up daily.
You can access your network folder by clicking on Start, Computer icon and selecting the drive as follows:
University of Greenwich - G: drive;
University of Kent - Z: drive; or
Canterbury Christ Church - N: drive.
If you are using MS Office and click Save, the computer will automatically save to your 'Documents' folder. This is directed to your network folder and is the same location as above.
WARNING! Always select Save As if working from an email attachment.
