Forthcoming SLAS workshops
See the SLAS webpages for details of workshops and e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to book a place. Workshops are open to all Universities at Medway students.
We offer a range of training in IT and library research skills that are designed to help develop your research and IT skills and enable you to use MS Office 2010 applications more effectively.
The Student Learning Advisory Service (often known as SLAS), who are located in the Drill Hall Library, also run workshops throughout the year on various study skills, such as essay writing and critical thinking.
We offer instructor-led and one-to-one coaching sessions for students of each partner institution. International students can also request sessions to meet specific requirements. Please click on the relevant section below for more details.
If you require help with using MS Office applications or generally feel a bit lost using e-mail and the internet, we offer one-to-one coaching sessions. Please enquire at the Welcome Desk or e-mail email@example.com - training MUST be booked in advance, we cannot offer it on a drop-in basis.
Library skills training
Library skills training sessions run every term in the Drill Hall Library training rooms. Most sessions will be run by your subject librarian and will be subject specific, assisting you in researching for your course work or dissertation. Other sessions will be more general such as learning how to use the library catalogue and managing your library account.
For details of training sessions run in your subject area please see your subject guide or contact your relevant subject librarian.
You may also book one-to-one training session with your subject librarian.
Alternatively, visit the Welcome Desk for one-to-one help from our on-call librarian.
Westlaw and LexisLibrary training sessions are available at particular times of the year. Please keep an eye on our website for future sessions.
