Drill Hall Library
As the country's lockdown measures continue to ease the government has announced that libraries can start to reopen. The Health & Safety of staff and students is paramount to us, and we are taking every effort to ensure that we can safely begin a phased reopening of our services.
On Monday 6th July, from 11am until 3pm, Monday to Friday, the library will reopen to provide a contactless service for the return of any books you have on loan from any of the Universities at Medway partnership libraries and a "Click & Collect" service for new loans, please read the instructions below on how to use this service.
Don’t forget to bring your University ID card as you will need it to enter the library and to borrow your books on collection. Also note that Face masks must be worn within the building. Only staff and students of the Universities at Medway who have a valid University ID card will be permitted in the building, and entry will be restricted to 4 library users at any one time.
All library loans have been extended until 28th September 2020 so you can keep hold of your books and we are not expecting you to come back onto campus to return books until it is safe for you to do so. We will keep you updated via our social media channels as we resume other library services and further open our study spaces over the coming months.
Library Services are still here to support you remotely. You can find vast amounts of e-resources and e-books via your university. You can also book online appointments with our librarians.
See below how you can contact us:

How does "Click & Collect" work?
Please note: Greenwich service has gone live, Kent and CCCU will follow shortly.
You can request items online by login in to your university's LibrarySearch and find the item you want showing as available, you can place a reservation on it and choose the Drill Hall Library as the pick-up site. Once the item is ready for collection, you’ll get a confirmation to your university email address. Do not attend the library until you have received a notification that your item is ready. Items may take longer to prepare due to additional health and safety processes we are following to keep you and our staff safe.
Limited library services
Please be aware that it is not possible to stay in the library or use the library's study spaces or the cafe. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we resume other library services and start opening our study spaces over the coming months.
Protect yourself and others by following the social distancing guidelines and use the hand sanitiser stations available in the library.
